Director

Ievgen Koshyn is a Ukrainian writer-director based in the UK. He holds film directing degrees from Kino Eyes – The European Film Masters and the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors in Moscow. Previously he graduated with an M.A. in Philology from Donetsk National University, where he also pursued PhD studies in literary theory. His short films “Star David” (2016), “We’ll Never Get Lost Together Again” (2020), “Dog Thieves” (2024) and “Chop Chop!” (2025) have screened at more than 150 festivals, including FIAPF-accredited PÖFF (Tallinn), Molodist (Kyiv), and LUCAS (Frankfurt), and have won a number of awards. Since 2010 he has worked as a director, screenwriter and 1st AD in cinema and TV. His directing credits include the TV series “Realna Mistyka” (2016) and the Monaco–Ukrainian TV docudrama “War in the Fifth Domain” (2024).
He is a member of the Ukrainian Film Academy.

Synopsis

A Scottish Pakistani father clashes with his religious father over whether to have his son circumcised.
