Director
Maria Lima, 19 years old, is from Lisbon and is currently studying Film at Universidade Católica in Porto. She has already directed several short films, including her first film project, The Elephant in the Room. This film was created as part of a school assignment, at Escola Artística Soares dos Reis. It was nominated for six film festivals, including Prémios Sophia Estudante, Fantasporto, and Porto Femme. It also won two awards: Best High School Film at the 10th edition of YMOTION, and Best Experimental Film at Festival de Curtas de Arganil. Another short film she made, Nenufares, is an animated film that was nominated for two competitions at the Monstra Festival: Best Super Short Film and the Vasco Granja Awards. It also received an honourable mention in Best Super Short Film category.
Maria Lima’s journey is just beginning, but she already shows strong artistic projects and a promising creative vision that stands out.


Synopsis
An essay film that confronts the monsters of childhood fear in a visually distinct exploration of memory and healing, using animation and home movies.
