Things have been quiet since we closed our call for entries back in November of 2024, but today marks the start of our social media campaign for the 5th edition of the LJMU MA Short Film Festival!
If you follow us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or any other social media platforms, you’ll no doubt have seen this video teaser announcing the return of the festival for 2025. As always, we’re bringing not only the best in emergent student filmmaking talent, but a new set of MA Students whose responsibility it is to oversee the running of the festival.
Over the course of the next few weeks, we’ll tell you more about this year’s MA students and also our 2025 jury, before bringing you the long awaited programme of films which will be competing for the coveted Paper Bird Awards.
There’s lots planned for this year, including our awards ceremony, screenings, and live filmmaker Q&As, and we might even have a special guest or two joining us for the festivities. We’ll also be bringing you a little sneak-peek at some of this year’s entries when our teaser trailer releases over the next couple of days. For our fifth birthday, it’s going to be a real celebration of the best in emergent student filmmaking talent!
